Accepted documents
The service is currently compatible with the following documents:
- Passports : all countries in the world
- Identity cards : France
- Biometric ID cards : all EU countries (see list in the documentation)
- Residence permits / Residence permits : France
- Biometric Driver’s Licenses : France, Algeria
- Passport card / Border crossing card : United States
Web application
The API comes with a web application that allows you to:
- View your subscription / find out how many verifications you have left
- View your API call history
- Download PDF, JSON, and XML reports for each call in the history
- Delete API calls and related data
- Access the “Verify a document” tool to verify an identity document by sending the file directly from the web interface
- Access the “MRZ Characters” tool to verify an identity document by entering the characters from the MRZ tape (or copy/paste)
- Access the Social Security Number tool to extract and verify information from a Social Security number
And this is located in FR / EN.
How to subscribe?
The Identity API is available with all ID subscriptions (but not with one-time payment).
Simply subscribe to one of the subscriptions to receive an account creation email with:
- your API key
- The username and password allowing you to access the web application
(Check in spam a few minutes after subscribing if you have not received the activation email).
“Verify a document” tool
Send the documents to be checked directly from the web interface!
With the “Verify Document” tab, you can send the files to be verified without going through API calls!
The results will then be available in the history, which can be downloaded as a PDF, JSON or XML report.
“MRZ Characters” tool
Do you have the string of characters of the MRZ tape of identity documents to be checked, or do you not want to send the documents directly?
The “MRZ Characters” tool allows you to do all the checks directly from the strings!
You will then be able to download the results from the history in PDF / JSON / XML formats.
“Social Security Number” tool
Have a valid Identity API subscription?
In addition to ID document verifications, you have free access to our French social security number information extraction and verification tool!
Available now from the web interface!
How do I send the documents?
The accepted formats are:
- Images (PNG/JPG/Webp etc)
Or simply text with the “MRZ Characters” tool in the web interface!
Features
The Identity API allows you to:
- Extract data from the MRZ tape
- Verify the veracity of the information extracted by cross-referencing it with that present on the document
- To ensure the validity of the following points:
- Number of characters in the MRZ strip
- Document code
- Country code
- Date of birth
- Expiry date of the document
- Type of owner
- Document number
- Personal number
- Ensure the validity of the various MRZ tape control keys (up to 6)
